1/1/1998... My conflicting feelings about art being cheapened by mass production and my desire to make a few bucks from my efforts, has dictated that any artwork that I offer here as a reproduction will be limited to a total of 15 or less copies reproduced. Hopefully, this will cause me to create more and thus necessitate updates to this site.
So, check back occasionally to see what's new
7/28/04...  Having not even made expenses vending oriental themed art at the last 2 Florida bonsai conventions has caused me to reconsider my goals about trying to sell. So. I'm not hustling any more, just showing off. If you see something that interests you, let me know.

Stumbled across a great book about pinstriping masters and got the itch. I dug out my old striping brushes from the 60's (still in excellent shape) and started in practicing. Anything's fair game when I have a brush in my hand.

One of the stripers in the book  did a tiger head that blew me away and after I got back in the groove somewhat, I wanted to take a shot at something similar. I chose a Snowy Egret. I gave this painting to my sister, who then gave it to my youngest daughter. This is on canvas, about 28' X 30"

I entered the Panda in the fine arts category at the 2004 Citrus County Fair and it won a blue ribbon plus best of show. This is also on canvas... 28" X 22".     In the works is a mastodon skull w/striping.

I have been trying to fix up an old beat up 1963 Ford F-100 for the last two years. Not an easy task on Social Security . My new Bro-in-law, Dave Christopher, started racing again after several years off,  and built a new racer that had to be lettered.  I did it for a new Lokar shifter kit for my truck

When I got the old Ford pickup, the engine was fried. After an extensive search I came upon Ranger Bob ( famed for stuffing big engines in Ford Rangers) and we started dickering for a nice 302 that he had. He'd never give me a price, said we'd get to that when he pulled it from the car it was in. Hoping to get a break on the price, I did a personalized cartoon for him. He liked it real well, but would've preferred one with the Ranger doing a wheelie. I gave him the original drawing of the first one and started another. After not being able to contact him after a while, I learned he had passed away. I still have the wheelie cartoon, but had to find another 302.

A lot of times, when I'm sitting in front of the TV, I'll doodle on a pad of old paper. If an idea  strikes me right, I'll work up a little rough drawing. These usually end up pinned to my studio wall for a while or stuffed into a drawer

When I really like an idea, I'll kick it up another notch and do a more finished versionI't's not hard to tell that I love to cartoon.

Lady with Cranes
This drawing was very popular. I made 15 reproductions for the 2002 BSF convention in Orlando, Fl. All 15 were sold and I could have sold the original on the spot had I been able to take a credit card. After the convention, I gave the original to my eldest daughter. They're all gone, but I'd liketo show the drawing on it's own page.... "Lady with cranes"

My Brother-in-law's public relations agency { BJ Thompson Associates} in Indiana, has Country Classics RV as a client. Learning that drag racing legend Kenny Bernstein was purchasing a motor home from them, Bob had me draw this up for a promotional presentation, t-shirts, etc..
Unfortunatly the company didn't go for it.
